ABOUT

Samia Malik is an artist and designer. Her practice focuses on anti-racism, anti-colonialism, social justice, human liberation, and education. She is the director and founder of WOCI (Women of Colour Index) Reading Group, and she is currently writing a book about WOCI Reading Group contracted by publishers Book Works. She recently completed an MA in Academic Practice. She works at University of the Arts as an associate lecturer teaching on workshops designed by her titled ‘Art, Fashion, Politics and Anti-Colonialism’. Between 2018-2023, she worked for Shades of Noir at University of the Arts. In 2014-2015, during and after the Israeli assault in Gaza titled ‘Operation Protective Edge’ she curated two exhibitions about Palestine.

In her earlier years, she studied MA Womenswear at Central St Martins and MFA Fine Arts at Goldsmiths University. She designs for her streetwear label called Samia Malik ihtgw, that sold worldwide. The label has been worn and collaborated with a number of musicians and artists
